The cast of characters are settling set for their new situations. They believe that nothing much should be happening to upset that world, yet, they’re surprisingly wrong.
This tale of innuendo, gossip, lies, misdirection and intrigue finds authentically like a comedy of errors and misinformation. The premise is easy enough and merely subtle enough to give a good base.
Ma Foster provides housing on her “girls,” Bella, Chloe and Kitty. Typically the three in residence are missing. Ma makes a big deal regarding it. She even would go to the area newspaper in the event the local police do not act upon her fears. She does appeal to the out-of-work detective, the newest editor with the local newspaper and finally the town itself.
The central character is Henrietta, who had been named following your town involved, Henryetta, Oklahoma. Henrietta provides extensive going for her nowadays, she’s got gone to live in the big city, OKC, OK and landed a job together with the local t.v. station. Harold Mixon, the property owner and editor emeritus with the local weekly newspaper, recently put on the internet is trying to have a pleasant and quiet Labor Day weekend along with his friends on the International Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.).
The other main characters are Gigi Carpenter, a feminist reporter turned editor with the local newspaper. Max (Maximo) Morgan a would-be gum shoe private investigator with a penchant for old murder mysteries, especially Dashiel Hammet’s “Fat Man” tales. Then Deano DeBoffo since the “reality” show director trying to shot an airplane pilot for the new show. Finally, Shatner Lapp, like a newsman, publisher, editor and all-round traditional boy, involves town to help in his Princeton buddy’s newspaper problems.
Once these individuals become involved in the gossip laden townsfolk, the misinformation flies. With an increase of rumors then a facts probably warrant, a few missing girls be a little more and much more objects of speculation and intrigue while little or no factual details are given. The rumors start mild since the missing girls are simply sought out by Ma and Maximo.
These rumors and gossip finally lead up to an important “reporter war” between Shat and Gigi. The misinformation here becomes the avalanche cascading within the news therefore the townspeople.
