When must the perfect wedding speech be presented…?
How weddings have changed on the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; a straightforward wedding car to expensive and huge wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; one to three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
Speaking of aforementioned, wedding speeches are still an important part of being married and guests do anticipate hearing them, discussing them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We know of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, throughout the meal and after your food, yet it is of an strong opinion the father of the bride speech must be delivered following the meal. I understand that for a lot of wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father of the Bride Speech, Father of the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they would choose to hold the wedding speeches prior to the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are paying for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and the way a lot of them (and even wedding ceremony venue staff) would like the wedding speeches to be delivered following your meal for many reasons, most of which include:
The invited guests have already been fed and watered and are not paying attention to wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which could be the case prior to meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival in the wedding venue)
Food may be cooked and served with the agreed time (introduce the wedding speeches before the meal along with their is actually a delay of 15 minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy always keeping food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches work as the transition in the meal towards the dancing (broke and alone happening following your meal, people are expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared in regards to the Bride & Groom after which they understand they could get up, move about, come out, take a stroll, go to the bar…)
It’s not easy for moms and dads in the Bride & Groom to communicate in public, as the majority of them may not be used than it. So, they could, should they so wished, speak prior to / their meal.
There should nevertheless be some type of formal speech(es) as soon as the meal…
