The moment should the outstanding wedding speech be delivered…?
How weddings have changed over the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight bridal party members; an easy wedding car to expensive and enormous wedding cars; three course meals to 6 course meals; one-three live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
These are rogues, wedding speeches remain an important part of a marriage and guests do enjoy hearing them, referring to them before, during and even after they’ve been delivered.
We are all aware of wedding speeches delivered before the meal, in the meal and after your food, however it is of the strong opinion the father of the groom speech ought to be delivered as soon as the meal. I understand that for a lot of bridal party speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father in the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (the five main speakers), they would would rather contain the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, to allow them to enjoy their meal (a number of them are spending money for it!). However, all is here the invited guests and the way many (as wll as the wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the wedding speeches to become delivered following your meal for several reasons, many of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and are not playing wedding speeches on an empty stomach (at least of food, which will be before the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival at the wedding venue)
Food can be cooked and served at the agreed time (introduce the wedding ceremony speeches before the meal and their can be quite a delay of 15 minutes to at least one.5 hours, driving living rooms staff crazy always keeping food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches work as the transition from the meal towards the dancing (broke and alone happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to get shared about the Bride & Groom then they understand they can wake up, maneuver around, take a rest, go for a walk, see a bar…)
It can be hard for fogeys from the Bride & Groom to speak in public areas, since most of them may not be used than it. So, they may, should they so wished, speak ahead of the / their meal.
There should always be some kind of formal speech(es) after the meal…
