Some cleansers clean away your makeup but are crazy-tough onto the skin. Some are gentler…but leave residue through the working day powering. And after that, you have the holy grail: micellar water.
The water-dependent cleanser was introduced by Jean-Noel Thorel, french founding father of the skincare collection Bioderma. Micellar water was created to cleanse and hydrate because the naturally hard tap water was too harsh on skin, leading to dry, dull complexions.
“Challenging faucet water is charged with a higher number of dissolved vitamins,” says Julie Russak, MD, of Russak Dermatology Center in NYC. “These can modify the protecting shield of the skin and even deteriorate it, making skin vulnerable and susceptible to environmental pollution and damage.”
Who can use cleansing water?
These days, micellar water is readily offered and is also considered a hero product or service because it’s perfect for all kinds of skin, (even those with sensitive complexions swear by it). It’s also ideal for packing when you’re on-the-go because you can use it to remove wash and makeup your face without having to rinse it off, which is a total game-changer.
